    Howard L. Patterson, 63, of
    Long Rd., and a superintendent
    at Gerstenslagers, died Saturday
    afternoon at the Wooster Com
    munity Hospital after a lingering
    illness.
    Services will be Tuesday at
    1:30p.m. at the McIntire Funeral
    Home with Rev. Glenn H. Rettig,
    minister of Christian Education
    of the Trinity United Church of
    Christ, officiating.
    Friends may call at the funeral
    home Monday from 7-9 p.m.
    Burial will be in Wooster.
    He was born in Millersburg
    Nov. 15, 1906, to William H.
    and to Grace Maxwell Patterson. He
    has been a Wooster area resident
    for 45 years.
    He was a member of the Trin-
    ity United Church of Christ.
    He is survived by his wife, the
    former Ila Steele; three daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Clip-
    pinger and Mrs. David (Wanda)
    Rohr, both of Wooster, and Mrs.
    Larry ( Linda ) Brooks of Wooster
    RD 2; a son, John H., with the
    Navy in Corpus Christi, Tex.;
    four sisters, Mrs. Elvin (Edith)
    Markley and Mrs. Rancel
    (Helen) Jones of Killbuck, Mrs.
    Willis (Irene) Markley of Co
    shocton, and Mrs. Edwin (Flor-
    ence) Baker of Millersburg; four
    brothers, Glenn of Ashland, War-
    ren of Columbus, Judson, and
    William Lee, both of Millers-
    burg; 21 grandchildren and one
    great-grandson.
    His parents and two sons, Paul
    in 1954 and Wayne in 1961 died
    previously.
